Davis Ready To Explode

Oviedo (Fla.) quarterback Chris Davis is healthy and ready to explode coming off a big spring game against Lake Mary.

Chris Davis is an exciting player for Oviedo (Fla.) High School. Davis, 6-foot-0 and 185-pounds, is a great athlete that plays quarterback. He was brilliant in their spring game win over Lake Mary (Fla.) earlier this month, showing everyone that his explosiveness is back.

"I had that long run and knew I was okay," Davis said. "I had a partially torn ACL last year and played in every game but one. I wasn't the same. But I had a good spring and I was a little worried before the Lake Mary game. Then I had that long touchdown run. It was a confidence booster. I showed everyone, including myself. I felt ready to explode."

Davis has very good speed and quickness. He could probably play quarterback in certain college offenses like Georgia Tech. In fact, the Yellow Jackets have offered him as a quarterback. Everyone else has mainly offered him as a wide receiver.

"I prefer to play wide receiver in college but I will do whatever teams want," Davis said. "I just want to play."

According to Davis he has scholarship offers from teams like Rutgers, UCF, FIU, UConn, Purdue, Utah State and Appalachian State.

"I have 16 in all," Davis said. "Right now I am open to the entire process and will make my decision after the season. Playing time will be important and I want to feel comfortable with the coaches, players and students. I want to make sure I get an education and play football."

Davis said he would like to camp this summer at FSU, Florida, Georgia, USF, and Kentucky and to visit Rutgers and Cincinnati.
