Florida Safety To Camp With USC?

It looks like Lakeland (Fla.) Lake Gibson safety Kendall Gant will camp at USC and maybe Georgia as well.

Defensive back Kendall Gant (Lakeland, Fla./Lake Gibson) is one of the top safety prospects from the Sunshine State. Gant, 6-foot3 and 190-pounds, can pretty much name his school.

"He has offers from everyone," said Keith Demyer, Lake Gibson's coach. "He can play anywhere in the SEC. He has offers from Florida, FSU, Georgia, South Carolina and Tennessee. Kendall has multiple choices."

Even with the offers Gant plans on hitting a few school camps this summer.

"I think he's going to camp at USC," Demyer said. "They have offered and he told me that he's taking a trip out there. And I am pretty sure he will do the same with Georgia. It's hard to say because he doesn't say much about any one school. He doesn't have a school favorite. Kendall kind of gets excited about each one and each offer."

According to Demyer, Gant has had a very productive spring. Much of that is due to the fact that he's playing one position.

"He had a good spring and played well in our spring game against Kissimmee Osceola. Last season we moved him around a lot and he played some offense. This spring he played free safety and he was much more sound in his responsibilities for that position. He has the ability to play downhill and he always puts himself in position to make plays because he has great sense for the ball."
