Green Reels in Offer Number One

Marcus Green was one of the most prolific wide receivers in the state of Mississippi during the 2012 season. Tucked away in one of the smaller towns in northeast Mississippi, Green worked hard to make his dreams come true. Earlier today, those dreams took a big step towards reality.

"UL-Monroe offered me," said an excited Green. "They had been throwing hints about it yesterday and they wanted me to call them today at 1:30 and then they pushed it back."

Not knowing what to expect, Green made the call.

"I got to talk with Coach Todd Berry, the head coach," explained Green. "He told me that they were offering me a full ride and that they wanted me to be a part of their football program."

While the long awaited offer from the Warhawks is now in hand, Green had a feeling some good news was on the way.

"I have a great relationship with Coach (Mario) Price," said Green. "I have been talking to him about three or four times a week.

"They are really the only ones I am really in there like that with.

"I had been talking to them and then when all of the stuff started getting out on twitter and all about how I did at the combine, I think they decided to go ahead and offer.

"I am going to camp up there on June the 11th and I thought they might offer after that, but they decided to go ahead and do it now."

ULM is not the only school planning to play host to Green in the coming weeks.

"I am going Ole Miss on June 7th and to UL-Monroe on the 11th," said Green. "Coach (Scott) Sallach from Mississippi State has been showing me a lot of interest, so I am going to go camp up there too."
