But Eluemunor, one of the premier JC prospects in the country, just needed a visit to UCLA to know he wanted to head West.
"Once I stepped on the UCLA campus, I was amazed and I was blown away," said Eluemunor. "I told Coach (Adrian) Klemm after my visit, I was committing to UCLA."
It was his relationship with Klemm that pushed Eluemunor towards committing to the Bruins.
"The big thing for me with UCLA has been the coaches," said Eluemunor. "I wanted to make sure all the coaches were cool. Coach Klemm is like a big brother to me. It's like a little brother/big brother relationship. We are really cool."
Eluemunor also raved about head coach Jim Mora.
"Coach Mora was really a cool guy," said Eluemunor. "He's a player's coach, not one of those coaches who is just in it for the money. As soon as I got there for my trip, we went out to dinner and he was talking with me. I really like Coach Mora."
Eluemunor said Westwood and Southern California was memorable.
"The whole campus at UCLA and getting to know everyone was exciting," said Eluemunor. "And the Rose Bowl, I've always heard of it, but getting to see it, it was beautiful. And the team is like a whole big family."
Eluemunor's father got to see Los Angeles too.
"My family was a big part of the process and they liked UCLA a lot," said Eluemunor. "My dad was with me (Sunday) and he liked the coaches like I do and he was real supportive."
He is glad, though, to have made his choice.
"It hasn't hit me yet," said Eluemunor. "It's like when I wrestled for the state championship, it wasn't until I was on the mat that I realized it. And I didn't realize I was one of the top players in the country until I got to UCLA. It will hit me soon. But I'm glad I'm committed."
With Eluemunor's commitment, UCLA now has verbals from the top two JC offensive linemen in the country, Eluemunor joining Dominick Jackson, the College of San Mateo (Calif.) tackle who committed to the Bruins last week.
