High School: Independence High School
Position: Offensive Line
Notes: Tony Adams, a 6-foot-2, 310-pounder has plenty of potential. He has played just one season on the offensive line (left tackle as a junior) and will line up at center, the position NC State is recruiting him to play, this year for Independence.
"Tony Adams really fires off the football and is relentless at the point of attack," says Scout.com Recruiting Analyst Michael Clark. "He is plays with good leverage and is very strong. Adams is also a good athlete who is an effective run and pass blocker.
"He is one of the most underrated offensive lineman in North Carolina and has the potential to develop into a very good player for the Wolfpack."
He was being recruited by North Carolina, South Carolina, Duke, and Wake Forest before picking the Wolfpack.
"None of them had offered me yet, but they all said they probably would at camp like State did," said Adams. "I was supposed to camp at North Carolina [on Sunday], but I didn't go. After going to NC State I knew there was no need to go to any other camps. I knew that was where I wanted to go."
