Hill With Three Early Offers

FOX Sports NEXT caught up with a member of the Houston Lamar coaching staff to get the update on 2015 defensive back Holton Hill, who has already grabbed the attention of more than eight college coaching staffs across the country.

With passing games becoming harder to defend and with taller receivers coming out each year, finding defensive backs to match with these offensive talents is of high importance. Sure college coaches will take a good secondary player when they find them, but if a player has height, then he becomes that much more valuable.

That is exactly the case going on with top 2015 athlete Holton Hill from Houston (TX) Lamar. After a successful season, from a team and individual standpoint, Hill has started seeing some early action take place in college recruiting/

"Hill has offers from SMU, Houston and Baylor. Texas, Miami and NC State are showing a lot of interest too," a member of the Lamar coaching staff informed FOX Sports NEXT.

The 6-foot-2, 175-pound Hill is likely a future Top 100 player in his respective class. It was mentioned to us that college coaches like his length and love the flexibility in Hill's hips.

As a sophomore, Hill recorded 33 tackles, two interceptions and two fumble recoveries.
