Purdue gets its quarterback

Three-star quarterback David Blough has given Purdue his verbal commitment.

David Blough will be a Boilermaker. The three-star quarterback committed to Purdue while on campus for an unofficial visit on Saturday.

Blough, a 6-foot-2, 190-pound prospect from Creekview (TX) High School, picked Purdue over an offer from Memphis and interest from Baylor, Colorado, SMU, Stanford and UTEP.

The Boilermakers now have three members in their 2014 recruiting class, with receivers Trae Hart and Gregory Phillips already pledged to Purdue. Blough is the second prospect from the state of Texas and another commit recruited by offensive coordinator John Shoop.

Blough added the offer from Purdue in early May, marking his first. He spoke highly of the Boilermakers but made it clear he intended to visit campus before making a decision.

Boiler Sports Report will provide a full story on Purdue's newest Boilermaker, David Blough.
