6/14/2013- 2015 Bowling Green (Warren East HS) LB/RB Eli Brown commits to Vanderbilt over offers from Ohio State, Kentucky and Western Kentucky. Brown spoke about his commitment. "I wasn't looking for a school that was just about football," said Brown. "I wanted to go to a school that would give me a bright future even if football doesn't work out." LINK

6/13/2013- 2014 longsnapper Ike Powell of Tifton, GA (Tift County HS) commits to Vanderbilt. Powell is considered the top longsnapping prospect in the nation. Coach Kevin Garvoille, Lead Snapping Instructor for Kohl's Snapping Camps commented on Powell's ability.

"He's the most complete snapper I have had the opportunity to work with. From his physical size, strength and agility while combining pin point accuracy and an outstanding snap velocity." LINK

6/13/2013- 2014 3-star DE Kurt Holuba of Oradell, NJ (Bergen Catholic HS) plans a visit to Vanderbilt. He has offers from Florida State, Iowa, Virginia, Michigan State, Rutgers and more. Holuba spoke about his contact with Vanderbilt.

"I'm in contact with (assistant) coach (John) Donovan and (assistant) coach (Bob) Shoop," Holuba said. "Coach Shoop came up a couple of weeks ago and gave me an offer. I know it's a great, great academic school and it's SEC football so it's definitely a place I want to check out." LINK

6/12/2013- 2014 3-star DE Taariq Shabazz of Kennesaw, GA (Kennesaw HS) wants to visit Vanderbilt. He has offers from Vandy, UCF, Southern Miss, Duke and Cincinnati. Shabazz spoke about his communication with the VU coaches.

"It was the second week of May when I received Vanderbilt's offer from Coach Bankins," Shabazz told "Mainly, he said they liked my pass rushing ability. They offered me at defensive end, but I have received some offers at outside linebacker in a 3-4. I've just really started to take a closer look at them, but I do like that they have strong academics. I watched their spring game from my house and was very impressed with the way they looked. I haven't been able to make any campus visits this spring, but I'm hoping to go to Vanderbilt sometime over the summer, probably in July for their camp." LINK

6/10/2013- 2014 3-star wide receiver Nate Brown of Suwanee, GA (North Gwinnett HS) says Vanderbilt and Missouri are among his top 5. "Out of the offers that I have now, Vanderbilt and Missouri are probably the top schools," explained Brown. "They'll definitely be in my top five... I could see myself at either place." LINK
