Louisville Recruiting Roundup

Charlie Strong and his staff are off to a hot start on the 2014 recruiting trails, having secured 15 commitments in the class- some that could step in next fall and make an impact right away. CardinalAuthority's Jody Demling joins me to weigh in, also touching on needs left to be filled and top targets.

With several quality backup quarterbacks on roster, Demling notes that local product Reggie Bonnafon is already viewed as a strong candidate to potentially fill the shoes of Teddy Bridgewater upon leave. Kavaris Harkless could see early time on the line, and Jacksonville's Isaiah Ford and Desean Blair in the receiving corp.

Running back, safety, and defensive line are positions of need still working to be filled in this '14 class. Four-star defensive tackle Poona Ford sits a major target with interest in Louisville, as does four-star Indianapolis-area linebacker Brandon Lee. Clearwater (Fla.) Countryside cornerback Mike Johnson also sits highly, recently naming Louisville to his top ten.
