Lasley Is a Bruin

Just days before the UCLA Elite Camp, Gardena (Calif.) Serra receiver Jordan Lasley said he was hopeful the Bruins would offer, confident his performance would earn him an offer he always wanted.

Lasley also said there was a good chance he'd commit if the Bruins offered.

On Friday evening, UCLA did their part, offering Lasley after he starred at their Elite Camp, easily the top 2014 performer there.

On Saturday, Lasley returned the favor, and called the UCLA coaches and told them he wanted to be a Bruin.

"I called Coach (Adrian) Klemm and committed (to UCLA))," said Lasley. "He and Coach (Jim) Mora were really excited."

Lasley had blown up this spring, with a number of offers coming in.

But UCLA was the offer he coveted.

"It's my dream to go to UCLA," said Lasley.

Lasley said a number of factors played into his commitment.

"The coaching, the atmosphere and it's close to home were all big," said Lasley. "My family is more excited than me and I'm excited."

Lasley becomes the third player to commit to UCLA this month, joining Dominick Jackson and Jermaine Eluemunor, a pair of JC offensive lineman, who also picked the Bruins.
