Benzschawel on Badger Radar

Grafton (Wisc.) rising senior Beau Benzschawel had a good camp at Wisconsin on Monday. He talks about where he believes he stands with a Badger offer and about his future visit and decision plans here.

Having played tight end, defensive end and with some schools projecting him to offensive tackle, Grafton High's Beau Benzschawel is giving recruiters options as far as where to play him at the next level.

On Monday, the 6'6, 250-pound senior to be camped at Wisconsin and had a good day, especially after moving over to defense.

"For the first practice, I went with the tight ends," he explained. "Then after practice, Coach Strickland talked to me and said I should go with the defensive line."

That proved to be the right move, as Benzschawel had a good performance in one on ones and while an offer from the Badgers was not extended, he remains in positive position with them.

"The coaches loved that I used the techniques in one on ones that they taught us earlier in practice. Coach Anderson talked to my dad and said no offer today, but they are very interested and they will meet as a coaching staff and make a decision."

From there, his recruitment should move quickly, as a commitment is likely to be made within the next couple months.

"I will be visiting Iowa State again in mid-July. I will make my decision before the football season."
