Still committed?

Jason Hall is a player that Nebraska fans check the commitment list regularly to still see if his name is listed. Hall picked up offers from Oklahoma and Texas this summer and the rumor was he would be changing his commitment.

Grand Prairie (Texas) South cornerback Jason Hall is going to be laying low this summer. There are no trips set for the Nebraska commitment to do anymore camps or see any schools. His time will be spent working out and also working for his uncle doing some very rewarding work.

"I am not really doing anything special this summer," Hall said. "I am just working out and working. I work for my uncle who helps distributing food to less than fortunate kids that don't have enough to eat. We work out of a local church."

When Hall is working out he says that it's mostly about becoming a better player in his coverage skills. The South staff is stressing playing 7-on-7 this summer which is a different approach than in past years according to Hall.

"I am just working on my skills and perfecting my craft. I am lifting weights and doing 7-on-7. We are trying to get to state, we are playing some small tournaments now, but we typically don't do 7-on-7. Our coaches this year are pushing it because of coverage skills."

Things got interesting for Hall this summer when before going to a camp he picked up an offer from Oklahoma. Following the camp he then picked up an offer from Texas. Another offer followed and he says since then things have quieted down.

"I picked up an offer from Oklahoma the day before I went to camp at Texas. I picked up an offer at Texas and when I got back from Texas I picked up an offer from Utah. After the offer from Utah things really died down."

Halls says that there are no plans anymore this summer. Things should remain quiet for a while on the recruiting front for him. "Right now, this summer, I really can't go anywhere. It's really more of a financial thing. There will be no more visits this summer."

What gets lost in the offers from Oklahoma and Texas is the commitment to Nebraska the first school to offer him. Hall says that he's still a Husker and talks regularly with the Nebraska staff up to and including the head coach as well as other commitments in the 2014 class.

"I am still committed to Nebraska," Hall said. "It started out that I was talking to Coach Tim Beck, but since then I have been talking more with Coach Terry Joseph and with head coach Bo Pelini. I also talk to the commits. Most of the commitments I am talking are the news ones that just committed to Nebraska."

The future with Hall is uncertain since he will not be able to visit Nebraska this summer. He says that a visit to see Nebraska is definitely on his agenda this fall. "I really couldn't tell you what is going to happen," Hall said. "I don't have any plans to make any more trips this summer. I would want to visit Nebraska this fall for an official visit."
