Taua Has Three Standing Out

The Lompoc (Calif.) defensive tackle, Ainuu Taua, has a solid trio at the top of his list...

Lompoc (Calif.) defensive tackle Ainuu Taua (6-1, 280), made the long drive from Lompoc to Corona over the weekend for the Prime Time Polynesian Kumite Camp, but he was glad to be there.

"It was a long trip, but it was worth it," said Taua. "It was great going against some great lineman and competing. It was good work. I felt like everyone got better and now I need to get home and do more work. It was fun going against those guys and they're great football players and they're going to be great players in college and do great things."

Taua will be at The Opening next week, working at defensive tackle, but he's also hoping to sneak on the field in 7on7 for Team Apocalypse.

"I might need to get some reps and catching passes," said Taua. "I might have to sneak off the helmet and get out there for my team."

Taua has double-digit offers but said there are three main schools he's considering.

"Ole Miss, Washington and UCLA are the main three," said Taua. "I don't have a favorite right now, I'm open. Those are still the main three. I'm not sure when I'll take my visit, I'm just waiting for the season."

Taua is camping at Washington for Rising Stars this weekend before heading to Beaverton for The Opening.
