Cavaliers offer Brickhouse

Jamez Brickhouse is one of the top 2015 prospects in the Tidewater area. On Wednesday, he picked up a huge scholarship offer.

Jamez Brickhouse has been on most recruiting radars since his freshman year. In fact, Old Dominion offered him shortly after the end of his first high school football season.

Yesterday, he picked up offer No. 2.

"I called (Virginia head coach) Mike London yesterday and he gave me the offer," said the 5-foot-10, 170-pound Brickhouse.

Brickhouse was happy when he got the news.

"I was excited," he said. "It's just a blessed feeling. It makes me want to keep working harder because it pays off."

Besides the schools that have offered, Brickhouse is also attracting interest from others.

"I haven't talked to anyone else, but I've received a lot of mail from different schools," he said. "Florida State, Michigan, Tennessee, N.C. State and Virginia Tech are the schools that have been sending me mail."

Brickhouse said he does not have any visits planned in the immediate future. The rising junior is focused on his season.
