Edwards Talks Ragin' Cajuns

Neshoba Central HS Three-Star DE/OL Ken Edwards (6'6,250) is one of the top athletes on the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns board. The big senior lineman workout went well at the recent UL football satellite camp in New Orleans and holds the Cajun program in high regard.

"I thought I worked out well at the camp, if not my best," Edwards stated. "I came in to camp with a sore knee and I really didn't run as well as I can, but I performed well enough in the One-on-One drills. I spoke to Coach Hudspeth after the camp and they want me to come down to Lafayette in July and work out against some of the top recruits. My knee should be better by then and I'm looking forward to getting down there next month.

Coach Tim Edwards is Ken Edwards' uncle and he coaches the defensive line for the Ragin' Cajuns, will that have some influence on his decision?

"That would be just fine with me, since I would rather play on the defensive side of the football," Ken mentioned. "While he is my uncle, he would probably be harder on me then the others because he will push me to be that best that I could be. My father said it would be a good place for me to play and learn to play college football. It would be a great situation if it works out that way, but it won't be the determining factor in what college I sign with in the spring."

Edwards has several programs that are looking at him as an offensive tackle because of his height and wingspan; what other camps will he attend in July and does it matter what side of the football he plays at the next level?

"If I like the program enough, it won't matter what side of the football I play on," Edwards stated. "While I like getting after people more on the defensive side of the football, getting the right opportunity to play in a good program is more important to me in the long run. I plan on attending camp at Mississippi State, Southern Miss and UL in July. Those will probably be the final camps I attend this summer."
