Four-star S Hester Commits to Rutgers

DePaul Catholic (Wayne, N.J.) four-star safety Kiy Hester was quick to pull the trigger after naming Rutgers his leader last week at the start of camp. Hester made his Rutgers commitment Friday afternoon, where he becomes the 19th member of the class.

DePaul Catholic (Wayne, N.J.) four-star safety Kiy Hester is the highest rated Rutgers commit to date, making his decision Friday afternoon.

Hester chose Rutgers over finalists Miami, Michigan, Virginia, Ohio State, North Carolina and Vanderbilt.

"Blessed to say I juts committed to Rutgers," Hester announced on his Twitter page.

Hester is the 19th commitment to Rutgers coach Kyle Flood in the class of 2014. He joins teammate Justin Nelson, who was the first to commit in the class.

"I have a good relationship with the coaches and they interact with me all the time," Hester said last week. "I know a lot of kids from Rutgers, kids that play other sports or friends from school or anything. I know I can fit right in with the people. My parents can come see me play and my family and friends."
