The Opening: Powers Recruiting Notes (Day 1)

BEAVERTON, Ore. -- Breaking down and recapping the action from the Midlands on day one of The Opening, where the players competed in the Nike Football Training Camp…

Arrion Springs – San Antonio (TX) Roosevelt

Not a major update here recruiting wise, as the 6-foot-0, 190-pound 4-star defensive back has remained firm with his top two of Oregon and Texas, but he now has his timeframe zeroed in on.

"I will be announcing tomorrow," Springs said. "I don't know for sure what time yet, but it will be tomorrow."

Tony Brown – Beaumont (TX) Ozen

Brown has not been naming any favorites in his recruiting process, but many have speculated that LSU is the favorite due to the fact his sister Bealoved Brown recently signed a track scholarship to play for the Tigers.

But Brown says not so fast.

"I have not said anything like that at all," Brown informed. "They should just not speculate. I do not know anybody that can read somebody's mind, so you know how all that goes."

Brown also informed that he will be "graduating in December" and enrolling in the school of his choice in January.

Kd Cannon – Mount Pleasant (TX)

Cannon has already announced his Top 12: Baylor, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas, Texas Tech, TCU, Ole Miss, Notre Dame, Miami, Texas A&M, Florida State and Florida

But he sees an end game playing out and has an idea of how he would like to see his decision making process unfold.

"I am going to have my top five before the summer is over with," Cannon stated. "My senior season I will take my visits to those top five schools and see which one is bets for me."

T.V. Williams – McKinney (TX)

Is set to announce his decision on July 9th, but has yet to announce his finalists. He says he will announce those finalists "on the day of my announcement". He will announce his decision at 6PM at McKinney High.

So far at The Opening he has players from Kentucky working on him the hardest.

"Thaddeus Snodgrass has been working me the hardest," Answered Williams. "He has been killing me with UK."

"He says come to UK. Be a hero and break a bunch of records. Bring the program back."
