The Most Recruited Recruit
After a dominating performance in the Sparq Championship Devante Noil may have become the hottest target of both LSU and Texas A&M commits at The Opening. They have all started to turn up the heat to try and convince the speedster to join them at their respective schools.
Talking with Edward Paris, Dylan Sumner-Gardner and Armani Watts they all said that they are trying to convince Noil to come play with them in college.
"Just that speed man," LSU Top 50 commit Paris said when asked why he is the top target. "He is the toughest to defend and would be a great addition to our class."
Sumner-Gardner quipped moments later, "We are going to get him to Texas A&M. He is not going to be playing with him (Paris)."
Demetrius Knox would like to take his official visits to see his entire top five and then make a decision post-senior season, possibly on national television.
"It is really killing me, but I feel that when the time is right I will commit, but I feel like it will be after the season," Knox explained. "I am trying to make it the Army All-American game, but whatever is right."
Knox was originally committed to Texas, but is now down to a Top Five of UCLA, Ohio State, TCU, Florida State and Miami (FL).
100 % and Not Looking
Do not look for QB David Blough or S Armani Watts to making any changes with their commitment status as the recruiting process plays itself out.
Watts, who says Texas A&M envisions him as a cornerback in its defensive scheme, said that he is absolutely "100% solid" with his commitment, citing direction of the program and SEC as factors for his firmness.
Blough, one of the most consistent throwers throughout The Opening's course of events, wanted to let it be known that he is a man of his word.
So if new schools do come calling he is not willing to listen.
"It's shut down," Blough confirmed. "I am going to Purdue. That's all there is to it."
Solid, But Possible Trips
Edward Paris is one of the top commits in the LSU class, and there is likely a very slim chance that he would look around, but he seems to at least be thinking about taking some official visits throughout the course of the recruiting process.
"I would like to take an official to UCLA, but of course LSU. LSU will be my first one. Maybe UCLA just to go with some friends… Florida State, Florida. It is up in the air."
Despite talking about "possibly" seeing some other schools, do not expect him to be changing colors. When talking about the Tigers he is already using the word "we".
"I will be taking my trip to LSU on September 21st when we play Auburn," Paris said. That is just the game I want to see."
