Killeen (Tex.) Harker Heights running back Marcus Anderson has kept busy this summer.

The 5-foot-9, 200-pounder has already camped at Texas State, Houston, New Mexico, and Mary Hardin Baylor, and has received a good response from coaches.

"Texas State told me that they are very interested and that I am on their board; Houston said pretty much the same thing. New Mexico said they are close to offering me, they are just going through the process. I've been talking to New Mexico like every other week.

"They all said that I'm doing very well and that they like my size and the speed I am bringing," he said.

Anderson has three more camps lined up for the summer.

"I'm planning on camping at Colorado; their coaches have said they want me to go to one of their camps, and there is one in Houston. I'm also going to camp at Houston again and at SMU. That will the conclusion of my camps until my senior season starts," he said.

The running back has also been putting in time working with his teammates in preparatin for the fall.

"I'm working out Monday through Friday, sometimes on Saturday. We have workouts at 5 a.m. and then again later in the afternoon," he said.

His hard work is paying off, as Anderson can see an improvement in his game.

"My progression has been steady; I keep getting stronger and faster. My times are going down and my bench and squats are going up, so I feel good about that," he said.
