The Opening: Jeb Blazevich Update

BEAVERTON, Oregon - Georgia commitment Jeb Blazevich is honored to be at The Opening and he wanted to show up in Oregon to show who he is, have a good time, and recruit for the school he is commitment to...

Jeb Blazevich is one of the top tight ends in the country and there is a lot to like about this four-star on Scout that was invited to The Opening.

He has good size (6'4.5/233), he has excellent hands, he is strong in the classroom, and the word commitment means something to him.

The No. 8 ranked tight end could be happier about competing out in Oregon this week.'s complete coverage of The Opening 2013 presented by NIKE
"It is huge blessing to be here," Blazevich said to Scout. "I have to credit God and my teammates for helping me reach this point. It is an honor to compete with the best and it gives me a chance to shows that Christians can compete hard, play with the best, and compete at a high level."

He has been a big target for his quarterbacks this week in 7v7 play and he was hoping that would be the case.

"I really wanted to show that I could run routes, that you don't have to be a 4.4 second guy in the 40 yard dash to get open, and that I knew how to set defenders up in routes. I am happy about that."

The pass-catching tight end recently committed to Georgia over a host of other schools and he could not be happier about his decision.

"It really hasn't set in completely that I am going to Georgia yet because I am still thinking about Charlotte Catholic and my teammates right now.

"I am trying not to plan too far ahead, but it is hard not to think about being a Bulldog. I get very excited when I am Athens, I know 100-percent that I made the right choice, and I know God wants me there.

"I was down there last week and I bought a new Georgia shirt, so that is great. I got to hang with some of the coaches, talk to some players, and I spent a lot of time with Christian Miller, another recruit."

Miller is one of many prospects Blazevich is now focused on. He is doing some recruiting.

"I really have a long list of guys that I am going to talk to and touch base with," he said. "I have talked to guys like Christian Miller and Raekwon McMillan at The Opening, but there are more. I am not sure how good of a recruiter I will be, but I am going to give it a shot.

"They need to know more about Georgia."
