Irons Talks Cajuns and Summer Camps

Edna Karr HS, (La) Athlete Glenn Irons has an offer in hand from the Ragin' Cajuns of Louisiana and several other programs. Irons recently spoke to the Cajun Redzone about his interest in UL and his plans for the rest of the summer.

Edna Karr HS, (La) Athlete Glen Irons (5'9,160) has seen his stock quietly improve this summer after earning all-state honors and helping Edna Karr to a 14-0 record and the 4A Class state championship. The 4.4 forty speedster scored 12 touchdowns while finishing the2012 season with over 500-yards receiving. An iron received an offer from UL early in the spring and is still getting interest from Coach Rebowe and the Ragin' Cajuns program. The senior to be recently visited the UL campus in Lafayette with his team for a 7-on-7 camp.

"I still talk to Coach Rebowe weekly," Irons stated. "I went to their camp in New Orleans and worked out for them; I thought I caught the ball well and showed them a good burst after the catch. Coach Hudspeth and Coach Rebowe asked me to come down to their camp on the 21st in Lafayette. I'm going to come up with my teammate Jaevon Walton and talk to the coaches and workout."

While the Cajuns have offered Irons at the receiver position, the speedy athletes has been working out on both sides of the football at camps.

"I've been working out at both this summer at camps" Glenn said. "I've done well playing both this summer and I'm willing to play on either side to play college football. I'm better at receiver right now and I have gotten better this summer with all the 7-on-7 tournaments we have played. If the right opportunity comes along, I'm willing to play wherever they want me to play."

Glenn Irons and Edna Karr participated in the Cajun's 7-On-7 Team Camp in June, eventually losing to University High in the championship game. Irons and his teammates will in several more camps this month before beginning fall drills.

"We are going to LSU's 7-on-7 camp next Saturday in Baton Rouge," Irons stated. "After the LSU camp, we are going to the National 7-on-7 Elite Camp in Alabama. We have a lot talent on our team and we believe we can beat anyone that we lineup against. We beat East Jefferson for the championship at the Southern camp, so are starting to click on both sides of the football."

Glenn Irons currently holds offers from Old Dominion, SMU and Louisiana.
