5) Thomas shows power
I knew Chad Thomas (Miami, Fla./Booker T. Washington) was good… but not that good. I had an opportunity to see him a few times last season. What I took away from those evals is that this was your typical Florida edge guy – a defensive end with speed and athleticism. He showed that at The Opening. But he also showed power, strength and a tremendous bull-rush. I didn't know he had that in him.

In one vs ones against 327-pound Trevor Darling (Miami Central) he drove this Hurricane commitment right into the tackle dummy in impressive fashion. Thomas clearly had the best three-day performance of all the defensive ends in attendance and took home MVP honors.
