Bartram Trail, Florida offensive lineman Jesse Burkett was an observer at Georgia Tech's football camp on Sunday. Monday, Jesse had a chance to learn more about Georgia Tech.
The trip to Atlanta allowed Burkett to meet some of Tech's current commits, talk with the coaches, and he also got the chance to see everything on campus. "The visit went well, very good."
Jacksonville, Florida commit Step Durham was one of the recruits that spent time with Burkett. Durham talked with Jesse about joining him in Tech's 2014 class. "We talked about it and he told me how much he liked Georgia Tech." The two recruits also talked about what the school has to offer.
Burkett was hosted on the trip by Coach Lamar Owens. "He said I was the kind of student-athlete that Georgia Tech looks for in their recruiting process." Jesse also talked with Coach Mike Sewak. "He said I was the right fit for the offense they run."
After talking to Coach Owens and Coach Sewak, Jesse also met with Coach Paul Johson. "He had a presentation made for me about Georgia Tech. It was good. He told me that he would love to have me as a part of the Yellow Jacket family."
Jesse felt the best part of the trip was getting to meet the current commits, current players, and the coaches. "Meeting everyone there at Georgia Tech was something that I really liked a lot."
"The visit definitely put Georgia Tech up there with the rest of the schools on my list." Georgia Tech, Vanderbilt, Cal, Purdue, North Carolina, and Florida State are the schools that Jesse will be looking at when he makes his decision.
When Jesse returns home, he will sit down and talk about how much he enjoyed the visit to Georgia Tech with his family. "Still, I want to wait until late August before making my official commitment. I feel that time will allow me to make a sound and correct decision."
