Reaves Gets First Offer

Jacksonville (FL) Fletcher High School cornerback Malik Reaves got his first scholarship offer yesterday. The rising senior also talks about camping at USF and FAU.

Malik Reaves has been looking forward to the day he got his first scholarship offer. Yesterday was that day for Reaves. According to the 6-foot-1 and 175-pound cornerback, Presbyterian College extended him his first scholarship offer.

"It feels great to get the first offer. It makes want to work harder and continue to get better," said Reaves. "Presbyterian saw me this spring and they liked me. They thought I was the leader of our defense and they also liked that I play physical. They also told me they like my man-to-man cover skills. I have family in South Carolina so I was already familiar with the program. I plan on taking an unofficial visit up there before the season starts.

Earlier this summer Reaves camped at USF and has been hearing from the Bulls regularly since.

"USF has been sending me mail since I left camp, something they weren't doing before camp, so I feel good about that. They plan on watching me this fall," said Reaves.

The rising senior is planning on attending FAU's camp this weekend.

"I'm going to FAU's camp this weekend, I have been hearing from them this summer and they want me to come to camp," said Reaves.

In addition to South Florida and Florida Atlantic, the cornerback is also being recruited by Florida International, Troy, UCF and Valdosta State.
