With two years left to play in high school, he is just trying to take it all in stride.
"Well right now in the process, me and my family are talking about it and all," Dunning reported. "I think I'm just taking it in. I'm just taking recruiting as it goes right now. I mean I'm just hoping anybody right now."
Texas A&M was one of his most recent offers. The Aggies stepped up after he was one of the top players at their prospect camp earlier this summer.
"A&M…that was a great camp," Dunning said. "The whole thing was high tempo, everything…I loved it. Just being in Aggie land and getting that offer, just knowing I have an offer from a good school like that, it felt good."
Dunning is working to be the No. 1 rated safety in the 2015 class.
"I mean, well, in my opinion I'm the best but I'm working hard every day to prove to everybody else that I am the best," Dunning confidently stated. "I just want to keep it going and performing every day."
"First off my size and athleticism - that's mostly what…mostly schools recruit me for my athleticism, speed, strength…the whole package (of what sets him apart at the top)."
Dunning recently helped his Whitehouse teammates compile a 2-2 overall record and advance to the Championship bracket at the Texas State 7-on-7 Championships.
"Just being out here is great because last year we came out and didn't do too good, so this year we got a chance to come out and redeem myself," Dunning said of the 7v7 experience. "I get to guard the top performers."
"I love 7on7. It's the only football happening during the summer…I love it."
