Kinnel Happy With FNL Performance

Class of 2015 defensive back Tyree Kinnel knows he's done all he can to show Ohio State he's worthy of a scholarship offer following his second camp visit of the summer. FOX Sports NEXT checked in with Kinnel about his Friday Night Lights experience.

With early offers from Arkansas and Kentucky, Huber Heights (Ohio) Wayne defensive back Tyree Kinnel looked to help his cause with Ohio State during the Buckeyes Friday Night Lights Camp.

How was the 5-foot-11, 170-pound defenders experience with the Buckeyes?

"Friday Night Lights was great," said Kinnel. "I feel I did pretty good last night and it was a great atmosphere and a good experience to go through. It was also a good workout and a great camp to test your skills."

What have the Buckeyes said about a possible offer?

"Coach (Kerry) Coombs said he wants me to play corner and that they are going to recruit me pretty hard this fall," explained Kinnel. "He said he likes big corners so he's going to be looking at me and recruiting me."

While Kinnel left without an offer he's confident one will come before all is said and done.

"Early this summer I attended camp and they liked me," he said. "However, that was the first time they had a chance to see me play. Last night they liked what I did. So I understand it's a process and feel it will come later as I go through high school."

With Friday nights camp Kinnel is now ready to get things started on having a solid junior year.

"Camps are over and we start camp at Wayne on Monday," said Kinnel. "Before we know it we'll be in two-a-days and we'll have a multiple team scrimmage with Dayton CJ and Springboro along with a game like scrimmage against Middletown."
