The rising senior already held offers from East Carolina, Florida Atlantic, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Middle Tennessee, Minnesota, North Carolina State, Old Dominion and Troy. According to Robinson the athletic McCants is also being actively recruited by Florida, Florida State, South Alabama and UCF.
The talented McCants demonstrated his athleticism and versatility by lining up at wide receiver, running back, kickoff returner, defensive back and even placekicker last season. At receiver McCants hauled in 29 passes for 428 yards for an average of 14.76 per catch. Three of his catches resulted in touchdowns. He also totaled 175 yards in kickoff returns and 34 yards as a running back. He even went 2 for 3 on extra point attempts. At defensive back McCants had three tackles and two passes defended.
"I am being recruited by most schools as a wide receiver but some schools are looking at me at both receiver and defensive back," said McCants.
The talented athlete had the Bulls in his top four schools before yesterday's offer and had said as recently as the last week of June that he thought USF might be close to offering. The other schools in McCants' top four are Louisville, Florida State and Troy. The Seminoles have yet to offer.
McCants camped at both Florida State and South Florida earlier this summer. He also took in Louisville's spring game earlier this year while on an unofficial visit.
