"I decided now was the time to go ahead and commit," said the Center Hill High School standout. "I had been thinking about it for a while and I can tell you that it was like a big burden had been taken off of my shoulders."

Gillespie is just the latest in a recent strong run of commitments by the Warhawks in the state of Mississippi.

"The state of Mississippi has some really good players this year," said Gillespie. "I believe Coach (Todd) Berry and Coach (Mario) Price saw the talent in the state and went after some good players.

"I am glad that they thought enough of me to offer me a chance," said the talented wide out. "ULM is a program on the rise and they have a great coaching staff.

"Everybody over there is real positive and it's exciting to be a part of it."

Gillespie and his fellow Center Hill teammates will strap on the pads this week as they train their focus towards the season opener later this month.

"I think we have the chance to surprise a lot of people this year," said Gillespie. "We have worked hard this summer and I feel like everybody has had the right attitude.

"We want to come out this year with a chip on our shoulders and surprise a lot of people."
