Castner sees potential with Indiana
Indianapolis' Ben Davis looks to be one of the most young, but talented teams in the Hoosier State in 2013. Leading the way for Ben Davis from under center is rising junior Kyle Castner, who is growing very familiar with the Indiana Hoosiers. "I have visited Indiana quite a few times," Castner said. "Today's (Sunday) visit was great. It was great seeing everybody again at Indiana. I know a lot of their players and just feel at home there." Castner said he was able to have a lengthy one-on-one conversation with quarterbacks coach Kevin Johns. "I'm really close with Coach Johns," Castner said. "He told me that I'm young, but talented, and they like me a lot. He said he's going to watch my first couple of games against Cathedral and St. Xavier and go from there as far as an offer. But,the future looks bright." Another school that Castner has been in frequent contact with is Cincinnati. "Cincinnati is also pretty high on me," Castner said. "Their quarterbacks coach told me a few things I needed to work on this summer, mostly shortening my release. I have really focused on that these past couple of months, and I sent him some cut-up film, and he says it looks a lot better." Castner is also hearing from Louisville, Nebraska and Michigan State. But, should Indiana or Cincinnati offer, would either have the edge? "That's something that will depend when the time comes," Castner said. "I just want to pick up those offers first, and then I'll go from there." Castner has no visits planned yet for the fall, but he is planning on visiting the schools on his list at some point this season.
