Tiassum Has Good Visit at IU

Indianapolis Park Tudor (Ind.) class of 2015 defensive tackle Brandon Tiassum talks about his trip to Indiana, a school he currently holds an offer from.

The last time Brandon Tiassum was in Bloomington, he was there for camp and walked away with his first scholarship offer. On Sunday, the 6'5, 265-pound rising junior defensive tackle returned to Indiana to see the Hoosiers go through a fall practice.

"It was a great day," he said. "I had a lot of fun, met a couple coaches, and I just really feel like part of the IU family. There was no pressure [to commit], but they just wanted me to feel like this is home for me and support the in-state team."

While observing practice, Tiassum noted a fellow Indianapolis area native who he sees similarities to himself in.

"The practice was great, very intense, up tempo, and Darius Latham stood out to me. He resembles the way I play too."

In less than a month, the college season will begin and Tiassum hopes to take the opportunity to see the Hoosiers in game action along with some of their conference foes.

They said I can come to every game I want and come back to a practice next week. I think I might go to a few games at Indiana. I want to go to games in the Big Ten. I want to go to Ohio State, Wisconsin, Michigan, Michigan State, around the Big Ten."

However, the big prospect has his own season to worry about first.

"My team goal is to win Sectionals and individual, I just want to do whatever I can do to get better."
