Junior safety with ACC offer

Safety Antonyo Sotolongo from Miami Gulliver Prep has an ACC offer and the Ivy League programs after him.

Antonyo Sotolongo is a standout 2015 safety prospect from Miami Gulliver Prep. He stands 6-foot-1 and weighs 200-pounds.

"This kid has range and can really move the field," said Earl Sims, Gulliver Prep's coach. "He's an athlete with great ball skills. He runs cross country and is a track guy in the 100 and in the hurdles."

According to Sims Sotolongo has an ACC offer and some of the Ivy League football programs are all over him.

"Antonyo has a Duke offer and Princeton and Columbia want him as well," Sims said. "I am telling you that this kid is a football player. He's learning and getting better. We are expecting big things from him. He's gaining confidence and it's going through the roof. Now his play is starting to back it up."

More teams are expressing interest. If Sotolongo has a big 2013 season there's no telling how high his stock can climb.

"Auburn, Clemson, Ole Miss and Mississippi State are teams that really like him but they haven't offered just yet," Sims said. "But that can change after this season."
