Googer's a Gamecock

South Carolina loves to recruit the state of Georgia and they landed a commitment from another Peach State prospect on Friday. Terry Googer announced he is a Gamecock…

South Carolina has picked up their 12th commitment.

"I chose South Carolina over Ole Miss and Miami," Terry Googer told Scout. "The main reason I chose South Carolina was how comfortable I felt there. I was there on July 12 for my last visit and it felt great. I like the location, it is pretty close to home, and I will be playing in the SEC. "

Googer, a 6-foot-3, 212 pound senior out of College Park (Ga.) Woodward Academy had well over a dozen scholarship offers and he could be a big wide receiver or used in a hybrid role up at South Carolina.

Scout ranks Googer as the No. 29 tight end in the country. Look for a video interview with Googer in the near future where he will go more in-depth about his commitment to the Gamecocks.
