The 2014 West 150

The preseason West 150 for the class of 2014 is topped by a pair of two-way athletes, Gardena (Calif.) Serra's Adoree Jackson and Long Beach (Calif.) Poly's Juju Smith...

Of the West's top ten prospects, half of them are ranked at one position, but very well could make the list on the other side of the ball.

That's been the theme in the region: versatility.

Gardena (Calif.) Serra cornerback Adoree Jackson wants to play receiver in college.  Long Beach (Calif.) Poly safety Juju Smith also would like to play receiver.

Fresno (Calif.) Central receiver Michiah Quick could be a lockdown corner.

Bellevue (Wash.) safety Budda Baker shined at The Opening as a receiver and Phoenix (Ariz.) Mountain Pointe receiver Jalen Brown racked up a slew of interceptions last fall.

Their versatility has put them in the top ten in the 2014 class out West.

Jackson and Smith rank 1-2 in the region while Scottsdale (Ariz.) Desert Mountain quarterback Kyle Allen, the nation's top-ranked quarterback, comes in at third.

Oakley (Calif.) Freedom running back Joe Mixon is the lone five-star back in the region and he comes in at fourth.

Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco offensive guard Damien Mama is the top-ranked guard in the country and he's fifth with Chandler (Ariz.) Hamilton five-star offensive tackle Casey Tucker the only other lineman in the top ranking seventh.

Quick is right smack between Mama and Tucker at sixth, with Baker and Brown eighth and ninth respectively.

Palo Alto (Calif.) quarterback Keller Chryst, the No. 2 ranked quarterback in the country behind Allen rounds out the top 10.

Here is the preseason West 150 for the class of 2014.
