Standberry sees a fit in Oxford

Charles Standberry committed to Ole Miss last summer and the Carver Senior (Montgomery, Ala.) standout is happy with his pledge. He's eager to make a statement during his senior season and show people what he can really do.

Carver dominated Prattville (Ala.) Friday night 20-7 and Charles Standberry had two catches for 35-yards. He was only targeted twice. The 2014 wide receiver was happy with the win and is hoping to turn some heads this season.

"I think it went very well, everybody fought hard, everybody bought in to what coach talked about at practice this week, and we all fought together," he said.

"I feel like I'm still that underrated guy, I just want to show everybody what I can do."

The Ole Miss commitment plans to take an official visit to Oxford this fall on October 12th and may take some other official visits too.

"I'm undecided, I may or I may not, most likely I am," he said.

"I'm still hearing from Southern Miss and Auburn. Right now, I'm pretty solid with Ole Miss, but I may (look into them)."

He watched the Rebels' exciting win over Vanderbilt Thursday and really liked what he saw.

"It was a great game," he said.

"It was really great. Jeff Scott, at the end of the game, with the big run. They played a lot of freshman too, and I really liked that in Ole Miss."

The 6-foot-4, 205-pound athlete sees opportunity for himself in the Rebels offense.

"I see myself fitting in very well. Ole Miss is a great program and I feel like I fit in the offense really well. I could do pretty well in that offense and make some plays." Stay tuned to FOX Sports and for the latest on Standberry and his upcoming fall visits.
