Toward the end of the 2012 season, it became clear Moore (Okla.) Southmoore wide receiver Jalen Adams was going to have a busy spring.
A breakout junior campaign made him one of the many names to watch in a loaded state of Oklahoma 2014 class. The spring was as good as advertised as Adams racked up nearly 10 offers.
But heading into his senior season, he's still content to wait out the process and see how things develop.
"I'm waiting to see what happens," Adams said. "You never know when that last-minute offer can come. Whatever happens, happens."
And what's happening right now is Adams learning how to be a leader. Having never been in this position before, he said it has been a different mentality.
"Right now I don't have any favorites," Adams said. "I'm just waiting to see who is going to give me the best opportunity. When I'm ready, I'll start researching the schools more and seeing what's best for me."
Adams has offers from Tulsa and Indiana, among others, and said he is looking forward to making as many visits as possible this fall. No visits are set up at this time.
For now, Adams is just focused on finishing strong for his senior season.
"People say we're looking good, but we got to get better," Adams said. "I love this team, but we're not 100 percent there yet. We have a lot of young guys, and I have to show them what it's like to play 6A football."
