Catching up with Quincy Wilson

The Florida Gators landed a big verbal commitment when cornerback Quincy Wilson announced for the University of Florida. The 6-foot-2, 195-pound defensive back checks in from Fort Lauderdale ( Fla.) University School of Nova S.

Quincy Wilson is a three star safety/defensive back prospect with great size and instincts. He has a very high football IQ and is exactly what college coaches are looking for. He is a big, fast and physical corner that will fit right in with what Will Muschamp likes to do in the defensive backfield.

Wilson talked about his first couple of games and things he would like to improve on.

"The first couple of games have gone well for my team," Quincy Wilson said. "So far I have had a pick six in both games, one was for 100-yards. I feel like I can improve every part of my game and I work on everything in practice."

Recruiting is all about relationships and Wilson is very close with the Gator coaching staff.

"My relationship with the coaching staff is great," Wilson said. "I talk to (defensive backs) coach [Travaris Robinson] T-Rob the most. He's a really cool guy. I talk to coach T-Rob just about every other day. We mostly talk about football stuff but we also talk about anything that comes up like school, family, anything."

Wilson says that since going public for the University of Florida all other schools have backed off. He is not planning to take any official visits besides his trip to Florida. Wilson talks about which recruits he speaks with the most of the current verbal's and one player he would like to join him .

"I talk to Ermon [Lane] and Chris [Lammons] just about every day, those are my boys and I talk to Khairi [Clark] some too and Travis Rudolph."
