Wisconsin is Howard's First

Wisconsin is trying to stay hot recruiting the state of Florida, recently giving Oviedo (FL) junior cornerback Terry Howard his first scholarship offer.

A pivotal recruiting area that Wisconsin has really focused on so far has been Florida, and the coaches have already yielded great success, including grabbing three 2014 verbal commits since the end of June.

There is always tons of talent to try and pluck out of the Sunshine State, and the Badgers recently offered Oviedo (FL) cornerback Terry Howard, giving the junior his first scholarship offer.

"I found out about the Wisconsin offer by my coach, who called me early in the morning and told me I have gotten an offer," Howard told BadgerNation. "I was really excited and to be honest I started dancing (laughter). I really don't know too much about Wisconsin other than that they have an awesome football program."

The 5-10, 170-pound defensive back had a big moment landing his first offer from the three time defending Big Ten champions, so how big of deal is it and could he possibly be taking a visit to Wisconsin this fall?

"It's huge I could get an offer from Wisconsin because I feel like my talent is up to the standards to play on a Big Ten school now," he said. "They are a Big Ten school, so they absolutely lead for me. I do plan on seeing myself visiting many campuses this fall and hopefully to Wisconsin."

Despite not having huge numbers or getting tons of attention, Howard is working on leading on and off the field for his team this year and helping them win in any way they need.

"Well, the season just kind of started by it only being the third game in," said Howard. "My opponents have been keeping the ball away from my side of the field most of the game, so I really don't have that much stats I have one pass deflection. I like to play with a lot of intensity. I'm a very confident and aggressive player. I pride myself in being a leader on the field. I lead by example."
