Young Scores Two More

Tallahassee (Fla.) Godby High School running back Kenny Young has added two in-state scholarship offers to his growing list. Young is also receiving interest renewed interest from two other in-state schools after a fast start to his senior campaign.

"Florida International and Florida Atlantic offered me," said Young earlier this week. "South Florida and Florida State are also showing interest. I have been invited to come to a game by both USF and Auburn."

The 5-foot-9 and 165-pound senior also has offers from Alabama State, Georgia State, Massachusetts, Old Dominion, Samford, South Alabama and Troy. In addition to being actively recruited by Auburn, FSU and USF, Young is also hearing from South Carolina.

Young who has been timed in the 100-meters at 10.6 is just as dangerous as a kickoff return man as he is at running back. Last season as a junior her ran for 732 yards and totaled another 790 yards on 23 returns.

Two games into his senior season the diminutive back has rushed for 155 yards on 21 carries, three of which went for scores. As a receiver out of the backfield Young has accumulated 154 yards on six receptions with one touchdown. Young is still proving himself to be one of the most dangerous kickoff returners in Florida having returned seven kicks for 259 yards for a whopping 37 yard average.
