Ashland High running back Quinton Baker is one of the most exciting young players in Kentucky. The sophomore is just beginning to appear on the radar of programs.

In only nine games as a freshman, Quinton Baker rushed 123 times for 923 yards and 16 touchdowns. The 5-foot-9, 175-pound running back is on his way to an even bigger season this year.

"My season is going well so far," Baker said. "It could be better. I have 600 something yards in four games. We are just now getting rolling."

Baker gets rolling in a big way because of his speed and elusiveness on the field.

"I think of myself as a play-maker," he said. "I'm kind of a spark. I'm a natural leader. I'm not a vocal leader, but I lead by action," he said. "My strengths are making people miss and using my speed and quickness."

It's very early for Baker at this stage, but he's hearing from some smaller schools and one BCS program.

"I'm hearing a little from schools, but not many. I took a visit to a Cincinnati game," he said.
