ATH Demetris Robertson Profile
While at Country Day, he offered junior athlete Demetris Robertson.
"It was exciting. Coach Jeff Scott came [to the school] and gave it to me. He hopes that I'll be able to go there someday. I always liked that team. I always loved that college," Robertson told CUTigers over the weekend.
Clemson was offer No. 2 for the 6-foot-1, 165-pound prospect.
"I know they're No. 3 in the country right now. They have great athletes on the field, like Tajh Boyd and Sammy Watkins," he said.
Georgia Tech offered the summer before his sophomore year.
Robertson, who could play on either side of the ball at the next level, will make his first visit to Clemson later this fall for the Florida State game.
"They never said, but it doesn't matter," he said, when asked which position Clemson would like him to play. "I play both sides. I play offense and defense. On my football team, I play wide receiver, running back, DB, punt return and kick return."
Georgia, South Carolina, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Florida State and UNC are also in contact. He thinks one of the SEC East schools will be his next offer.
"I want to say South Carolina, Georgia or Tennessee," Robertson said, when asked which school might offer next.
"It's a little early to tell. But, as I go along, I'll be able to get my favorites by visiting schools."
He'll be on the lookout for a number of different things while making the rounds.
"I'll look at the school and how the coaches are, the relationships, how they get along with their players," Robertson said.
Limited to four games as a sophomore because of a broken ankle, he had 30 catches for over 400 yards on the offensive side of the ball. On defense, Robertson had over 40 tackles.
So far this season, Robertson has 37 tackles and an interception. During Friday night's 43-19 win over Wheeler County, he scored three touchdowns, one rushing, another receiving and the other on a kickoff return.
