Toledo (OH) Central Catholic offensive tackle Ramon Miles had a strong performance Friday night against Perrysburg. He stood out with his athleticism and aided the offensive attack that racked up nearly 500 yards of offense.
The 2015 lineman only played a little over a half in the game as he is dealing with a painful injury.
"I thought I did alright and I'm just trying to get better each game," said Miles. "I only played about a half because of my knee but that was ok. The injury is alright and I'm doing the best I can with it. It is kind of tough to play a full game with a torn ACL but it's getting easier to handle. I plan on waiting to have surgery on it until after the season."
"I'm just glad the team has done well so far and the offensive line has stepped up," he continued. "We'll be good and continue to get better as the season goes on. The goal is a state championship and we won't stop working until we have it."
Miles holds one offer but is starting to gain interest from other programs as well.
"It felt great to get the offer from Akron," he noted. "It felt a lot of weight was lifted off my shoulders. I'm glad they like me enough to offer me a scholarship."
"I haven't paid too much recruitment or looked into college football much so I don't know much about anything in terms of my recruitment," he added. "Boston College, Arkansas, Ohio State, and Michigan State have showed some interest. Boston College said they were close to offering me and that they just need to find a bit more out about me."
The Toledo native spoke about what programs he has liked so far and explained his interest in a few schools.
"I'm really interested in Arkansas because they talk to me quite a lot," Miles stated. "I hope to keep hearing from Boston College too. They talk to me about as much as Arkansas. I also like the bigger schools like Ohio State and Michigan State. Ohio State, Michigan State, and Duke have sent me a lot of mail and invited me to games and I'm going to try to do that. I just don't know when."
Miles hopes to visit Toledo soon.
