Live Evaluation: RB Chico McClatcher

Scout looks at the Federal Way (Wash.) 2015 running back, Chico McClatcher, in their win over Emerald Ridge...

Name: Chico McClatcher
School: Federal Way (Wash.)
Position: Running Back
Size: 5-8, 173-pounds
Class: 2015
Recruitment: Offers from Washington, Washington State, Arizona State, Boise State, UCLA, Portland State and Utah Ranking: Four-Star, #27-ranked running back prospect nationally

Federal Way 2015 running back Chico McClatcher had a big night, with three touchdowns, and another one, a 60+ yard punt return for a score, nullified by a penalty.

McClatcher is not a big guy, he's about 5-foot-7, maybe 5-foot-8, and around 165, but it's hard to hit what you can't catch.

His speed and ability to stop on a dime and change direction is really unrivaled in the region.

The four-star does a tremendous job of getting into the open field and using his speed, and doesn't waste a lot of time trying to make moves.

But when he needs to make a move, he can.  He did a good job catching the ball out of the backfield and when he's hit, he's get excellent balance.

He reminds a lot of former USC running back Curtis Moody in their size and running style, those McClatcher is faster.

Brandon is in his ninth year with and FOXSportsNext, currently as a National Recruiting Analyst and West Regional Manager. Prior to joining the Scout Recruiting Team, he was a team recruiting writer.  He's been covering recruiting for the Scout Network since 2003.
