Scarborough plans official visits

Bo Scarborough remains committed to Alabama, but rumors swirl about just how solid his pledge really is. The 2014 running back responds to the rumors and talks upcoming officials right here.

Plenty of schools continue to recruit Alabama commitment Bo Scarborough. The solidity of his pledge to the Tide continues to be a hot topic in recruiting circles. The four-star running back transferred to IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida for his senior season, and he thinks that could be a reason for the rumors.

"Maybe (there are rumors) because I'm in Florida, but those rumors aren't true. That's the only reasons that they have to think that, because I'm in Florida. I'm committed to Alabama and they think that I'm going to go to Florida, but that's not true," he said.

Scarborough continues to insist his pledge to the Tide is solid, but he's also got plans to see several other programs. He'll take an official visit to Notre Dame on October 19th when they welcome USC, and he'll be evaluating several things about the Irish program.

"(I'll be looking at if) I feel comfortable there, do they have anything to offer me, are they going to take care of me while I'm hours away from home, the offensive line, and who they have coming in," he said.

Florida, Florida State, and Georgia will also likely get official visits from the 6-foot-2, 234-pound back. Scarborough says he talks to coaches at Florida every week and the Gators have made quite a recruiting pitch to him.

"(Head) coach (Will) Muschamp, he says that he doesn't just want me there, he says that he needs me there. That's a big difference between wanting somebody and needing somebody. So with that, I will have to take a visit to Florida," he said.

The Seminoles will also likely host the much sought-after running back this fall. "They have that young quarterback, Jameis Winston, I think that he's a great player. (Head) coach Jimbo (Fisher) and (running backs) coach (Jay) Graham are some good coaches, and coach Sal, so I'm going to take a visit there," he said.

Georgia is another school Scarborough would like to see. He's visited Athens before, but he'd like a closer look.

"Georgia, I visited there two summers ago. I liked Georgia but I didn't really get to explore everything, so I'm going to go back for an official visit and see how everything goes. I didn't really get to talk to any coaches, so I want to go talk to (head) coach Mark Richt," he said.

Don't rule out the Tide. Scarborough plans to visit unofficially when they welcome Georgia State October 5th, and again when they welcome LSU on November 9th. He'll also take his official visit there after the season.

When will he make a final decision?

"In my mind, it's already done," he said.

With plenty of time until National Signing Day, there's sure to be no shortage of excitement with Scarborough. FOX Sports and Scout.com will have you covered for all the latest on his recruitment.
