SE 2016 Watch List: Stephen Sullivan

National Recruiting Analyst Chad Simmons recently revealed his Top 30 Southeast sophomores with three from Louisiana making the cut: Devin White, Edwin Alexander and 6-foot-6 WR Stephen Sullivan from Donaldsonville. Read on to learn more about Sullivan, a long target with the versatility to line up anywhere...

Donaldsonville WR Stephen Sullivan joined North Webster RB/LB Devin White and St. Thomas Aquinas DL Edwin Alexander as the three Louisiana members of Chad Simmons' Top 30 Southeast Watch List for sophomores (2016 prospects).

"I feel that it's a blessing," Sullivan said of making the list. "I came from the bottom and now I'm here. I have my name getting out there. Being named to this list will help motivate me and help me strive to get better."

As a freshman Sullivan caught 69 passes for 694 yards and six TDs. The 6-6, 210-pounder had a season-high 12 receptions vs. both McDonogh #35 and St. Charles Catholic.

In week one of this season versus the Assumption Mustangs, he grabbed a 26-yard touchdown pass from 2016 quarterback Tyler Brown.

Sullivan and his teammates at Class 3A Donaldsonville currently sit at 1-2. The Tigers defeated 4A Assumption in the opener, 24-21, but fell victim to powerful 5A Dutchtown the following week before getting upset this weekend by Class A White Castle, 28-18.

"We have to stay focused, stay together, keep working hard and great things are going to come," Sullivan said.

Donaldsonville hosts the Southern Lab Kittens this week.

Sullivan noted that a big district contest is circled on the calendar in week six vs. E.D. White Catholic, which downed the Tigers 38-22 last fall.

LSU, Alabama, Mississippi State, Nebraska and Ole Miss are primary schools of interest for this young receiver who possesses an ideal frame and an exciting future.

He plays alongside two more top WRs at Donaldsonville: 2014 Tulane commit Leondre James and 2015 Jaquel Gant.
