  • Jackson arrived at Mississippi State Saturday morning due to a special event.

"I think we got there around 11:30 (am)," said Jackson. "I rode (to MSU) with my girlfriend's brother and his wife. Their grandpa, Charles Evans, got inducted into the Hall of Fame."

After walking around the campus and enjoying all the pre-game activities, Jackson was able to watch the Mississippi State football team go through the Dawg Walk.

"You could pretty much see yourself in (the Dawg Walk)," said Jackson. "You kind of could visualize yourself being in the Dawg Walk."

After watching the Dawg Walk, he went to the recruiting center with the other recruits.

"It was exciting (being in the recruiting center)," said Jackson. "You just feel important while you are there. I pretty much get the same feeling every time I go (to MSU). I always feel at home."

About an hour before the game, the recruits are allowed on the field. Several of MSU's coaches came over to the sidelines and spoke with Jackson.

"(Assistant) Coach Tony Hughes came over and talked to me," said Jackson. "(Assistant coach) Billy Gonzales talked to me. And (head) Coach Dan Mullen also talked to me.

"They talked to me about how things are going, how my season is going. We talked about Troy a little bit and what I should look for in the game."

During the game, Jackson mainly watched the Mississippi State wide receivers and cornerbacks.

"I watched the receivers and saw what routes they ran," he said. "I compared my routes to theirs. Certain routes look different based on how they run them and how I run them. I definitely watched their cornerbacks. They are well coached. I will take some of the things they do and use them to make myself better. And I also watched to see how many times they threw the ball."

He was impressed with the overall effort of the Mississippi State football team during the game.

"I saw a lot of fire from them, saw a lot of energy," said Jackson. "Their defense really came out with a big bang. (Because of their defense) their offense didn't feel the pressure to score every drive. I could tell that (Dak) Prescott seemed a little bit more relaxed that game."

While impressed with the Bulldog team, he was also impressed with the Mississippi State crowd.

"I liked the response of the fans when they scored," he said. "State fans stay behind their team the entire game whether they are up or down. I also like the tradition, the ringing of the cowbells. I definitely love being there."

Next on Jackson's recruiting agenda are a couple of football games at Alabama and Ole Miss.

"I am going to Alabama when they play Ole Miss this weekend," he said. "Then, after that, I am going to Ole Miss when Ole Miss plays at home game against Texas A&M."
