Bearcats Offer 2014 Offensive Lineman

Wednesday night the University of Cincinnati extended a new scholarship offer to a 2014 offensive lineman. Learn more about the newest offer extended by Tommy Tuberville and his staff.

Last Friday night several members of the Cincinnati coaching staff hit the road for high school games in the region. One game caught by the Bearcats was Moeller's battle against Louisville (Ky.) St. Xavier in a heavy rain as offensive line coach Darren Hiller was seen watching the action.

Well it looks like Hiller found what he was looking for in St. Xavier offensive tackle John Kurtz who received a scholarship offer on Wednesday night.

"I've been talking with wide receivers coach Blake Rolan," said Kurtz. "He's the area recruiter for my area and we've been talking the past couple of weeks. They said they wanted to see me and I guess Coach Hiller came to our game against Moeller and saw me play."

Where does the 6-foot-5, 265-pound Kurtz place his latest offer?

"I had three offers before this one," he said. "Western Kentucky, Ball State and Indiana State had offered me and I've been talking with Cincinnati and Illinois.

"This puts Cincinnati right at the top of my list. From what I've seen, I like the coaching staff and facilities and definitely will be taking a visit up there and see where it goes from there."

Bearcat Insider attended Friday night's game and here is an action photo of Kurtz against Moeller.
