Eason hoping to return soon

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. -- Last fall, Will Eason had a great freshman season. Unfortunately, 2016 SouthLake Christian cornerback was injured earlier this month. However, he is looking to return in the near future.

Will Eason had a strong freshman campaign and was poised for a big sophomore season. But earlier this month, he broke his collar bone.

"I'm looking to accomplish a lot when I get back because I definitely put up some big numbers as a freshman," said the 5-foot-8, 160-pound Eason.

"A lot of people were looking for me to come back stronger as a sophomore, but hopefully I'll be back by the end of the season contributing to my team."

Multiple schools are showing early interest in Eason.

"Right now, Akron is recruiting me the hardest," he said. "I was talking to one of the coaches and he was saying they were going to offer, but I'm still waiting hear back. I'm also hearing from Duke, North Carolina, Wake Forest and Vanderbilt."

The SouthLake product has already visited North Carolina and Wake Forest. He said he also hopes to go to Clemson, North Carolina State, Tennessee and Vanderbilt this fall.

Eason is recovering and hopes to ready for the playoffs.

SouthLake Christian is 6-0 and continues their season on Friday against Providence Day at 7 p.m.
