Ross Flips to Beavers

The Pittsburg (Calif.) running back, Harris Ross, switched his commitment from Hawaii to Oregon State...

Few running backs have had the season that Pittsburg (Calif.) running back Harris Ross has had so far.

But recruiting, outside of his offer from and commitment to Hawaii last month, hasn't gone as well.

That all changed, though on Wednesday.

Coveting an offer from Oregon State, Ross got one from the Beavers and switched his verbal from Hawaii to Oregon State.

"It's official," said Ross. "I committed to Oregon State."

Head coach Mike Riley and running backs coach Chris Brasfield let Ross know he had an offer, and Ross returned the favor to let them know he was coming to Corvallis.

"I've been waiting on Oregon State for the longest time," said Ross. "I thank God for this. I'm real stoked."

On the year, Ross has rushed for 1,386 yards and 18 touchdowns through six games.
