Weber and Cass Back to City Championship

Detroit Cass Tech (Mich.) running back Mike Weber has helped his team back to the PSL Championship Game. He talked about what his team needs to do to change the outcome this year, as well as his recent visit to Ohio State and offer from Nebraska.

East English Village Prep did a nice job containing Mike Weber in their PSL semi-final clash. The Cass Tech junior running back has had a huge season so far, but while he did not break any big runs on Friday, he gained steady chunks of yardage and helped his team come out on top.

"It feels good to get this W," he said. "King is next, big rival, it's always a good game, so we'll come with our A-game this time."

Last season, King defeated Cass in the title game. The Technicians rebounded to win the state title, but they are hoping get some revenge on their Motor City rivals next week.

"Last year, we came out with our heads cut off and didn't execute with our game plan. We didn't do the right things, so this year, we're going to focus on what we have to do and be better."

On the recruiting front, Weber, a four-star prospect, has plenty of options. He visited Ohio State recently and saw them defeat Wisconsin.

"I like Ohio State a lot. The atmosphere was nice. They won. It was a good feeling."

Weber is scheduled to visit Michigan State on Saturday, but wouldn't fully commit to his plans, saying, "I think so, I'm not really sure."

His most recent offer comes from Nebraska.

"Really, I'm trying to get down there as soon as I can. I don't know if it will be this year or next year, but I want to see what's going on."

Weber is also considering Tennessee and Michigan.
