QB Bradwell Makes Decision; Commits

Tallahassee (Fla.) Godby High School quarterback J.T. Bradwell announced his commitment to Liberty University this morning. The senior is 23-2 as a starter over the last two seasons.

Tallahassee (Fla.) Godby High School quarterback J.T. Bradwell was so coveted by Liberty that three weeks ago Flame's head coach Turner Gill traveled to Tallahassee to watch the signal-caller in game action. That fact did not go lost on the 6-foot-2 and 200-pound senior who committed to Coach Gill and Liberty earlier today.

"The first reason was because Coach Gill came down here to see me a couple of weeks ago for one of my games and that made a big impression on me," said Bradwell of one of several reasons he chose to commit before the end of the season.

"Secondly, on my visit I met with the coaches and the players and they have really built the program with a family atmosphere. It's a nice place," said Bradwell.

Other factors that help sway Bradwell to the Flames was their style of offense and the ability to compete for playing time as a true freshman.

"They actually run the same offense that we run here at Godby so I felt good about that," said the proud senior. "They told me as soon as I get there that I will have the opportunity to compete for a starting job and that they will build the offense around what I can do."

What Bradwell does is win. Over the last season and a half the quarterback is 23-2 as a starter. Bradwell is also just as capable as a runner as he is a passer from the quarterback position. This season the Godby trigger-man has thrown for 1,579 yards, 18 touchdowns and five interceptions while completing 74 of 134 passes. As a runner the athletic quarterback has rushed for 489 yards on 79 attempts and has scored five touchdowns.

Bradwell considered offers from Georgia State, Arkansas State, Georgia Southern, Samford and Bethune-Cookman before deciding to give his pledge to Liberty.
